About Environmental Paper Network International and the Biomass Action Network

The Environmental Paper Network (EPN – environmentalpaper.org and environmentalpaper.cn) is a global coalition of more than 350 civil society organisations, all of which have signed the Global Paper Vision or the Biomass Delusion Statement. EPN was formed in North America in 2002, in Europe in 2005, and in China in 2009. In 2014, the European EPN expanded to become EPN International, the hub for all members outside China and North America.

Originally focussing only on the Pulp & Paper Industry, in 2018 EPN expanded its work to include supporting efforts to halt the destructive Biomass Industry through the formation of the Biomass Action Network. Since then the Biomass Action Network has grown to include more than 200 NGOs across 70 countries. Through BAN we connect and enable collaboration between member organisations from all around the world who are campaigning on biomass issues. Read more here and here

EPN is governed by a steering committee of representatives from our member organisations and experts in the field.
