Round Up: The International Day of Action on Big Biomass 2025

On 21st October groups all around the world took part in the Biomass Action Network’s annual day of action to raise awareness of the impacts of the biomass industry. Here is the round up of the day with photos of international actions and events.

This year our main message to governments is to stop giving massive subsidies, tax breaks and incentives to the biomass industry, which are fuelling its proliferation and destructive impacts all around the globe. Together with partner organisations we launched a new report “Burning Billions for Biomass: The case for cutting subsidies, not forests” which reveals that a handful of major economies spent nearly $250 billion on biomass subsidies over the last 22 years.
