The UK’s national health service (NHS)has been set a target of going completely paperless by 2018, according to the BBC. The process will begin by moving from paper patient records by 2015. The shift to a paper free health service has been recognised as having colossal financial implications – with an estimated saving of £4.4 billion.

We’re looking forward to working with NHS staff on the practicalities of this momentous task and we congratulate the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, for setting a visionary goal.
